Grandma, Can I?

{dress:  grandmothers mother?  I  socks & booties:  target}
i THINK this dress belonged to my great grandmother.   grandma is this right?   and i also THINK i'm going to make it 4 feet shorter.  or, however many feet would make it a super retro mini dress.  grandma?  can i?
it kills me to think about hacking this dress up, especially if it has been in the family so long, but i just dont think the length is flattering enough.   its a bit costumey, which, dont get me wrong, i LOVE costumey.  but ive paired it with a jean vest, a long sweater, higher heels, flats, even a side pony tail and crown.  i just cant get it right.  any suggestions?  also, imagine how amazing and sexy it would be super short.   i'd reattach the hem detail of course.  mini dresses with long sleeves and high necklines are my favorite.  anyway.  whats consensus?

What a fun thing.. you have your grandmother's dress!! COOL! I love it long like it is - but short would be awesome, as well. I love the look just the way you styled it and I really love your cuff-y bracelets! Cheers!
